Wyatt Hawn Russell (born July 10, 1986)[1] is an American actor and former ice hockey player.

Early life

Russell was born in Los Angeles, California,[1] to actors Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.[2][3] He is a grandson of actor Bing Russell.[4]

Career

Russell played for numerous amateur and pro hockey teams as a goaltender including the Richmond Sockeyes, Langley Hornets, Coquitlam Express, Chicago Steel, Brampton Capitals, and Groningen Grizzlies.[5] He also played NCAA hockey for the Chargers at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. His career was cut short due to injuries.[6]

Russell appeared in films, such as Escape from L.A., Soldier, Cowboys & Aliens, This Is 40, Love and Honor, We Are What We Are, and Goon: Last of the Enforcers. He also appeared in the 2014 film 22 Jump Street.[7] In 2016, he co-starred in a film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival called Folk Hero & Funny Guy. In 2016, he starred in "Playtest", an episode of the anthology series Black Mirror.[8]

In 2018, he and Jovan Adepo played the leads in the World War II-set horror film Overlord.[9]

In 2020, he will star as John Walker / U.S. Agent in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[10]

Personal life

On March 14, 2012, after two years of dating, Russell married stylist Sanne Hamers, whom he met in the Netherlands while playing hockey.[11][12] The couple separated on March 2, 2015, and divorced amicably on October 24, 2017.[13][14]

In 2016, Russell began a relationship with Meredith Hagner, whom he met on the set of Folk Hero & Funny Guy.[15] In April 2018, Russell and Hagner purchased a 1930s Spanish home in Sherman Oaks, California.[16] Russell married Hagner on September 2, 2019 in Aspen, Colorado.
