William Clyde Gibson

William Clyde Gibson is a convicted serial killer on death row in the state of Indiana.[2]

In 2013 Gibson pleaded guilty to the sexual assault and murder of Christine Whitis, a family friend who had visited Gibson at his New Albany home. She had gone there to console Gibson after his mother's death.[3]

In total, Gibson pleaded guilty to three murders. After his initial arrest for Whitis' murder, police excavated Gibson's back yard and found the body of Stephanie Kirk, a 35-year-old Charlestown woman who had disappeared in 2012. Gibson also admitted to killing Karen Hodella of Port Orange, Florida, in October 2002.

At sentencing, Gibson responded "I deserve what I’m getting. It ain’t no big deal." Gibson was one of a number of death row inmates from Indiana's state prison who appeared in a Trevor McDonald documentary called ''Death Row 2018'' which was aired in the UK in February 2018.
