William Arthur Evelyn

William Arthur Evelyn (4 October 1860 – 6 January 1935) was a distinguished historian of York, and the creator of the Evelyn collection.

The Evelyns claimed to be descended from John Evelyn (1620–1706), the diarist. He had two brothers. Francis was a first-class cricketer, while Edward was an international footballer.
