In addition to Weatherford, the district serves most of Hudson Oaks as well as portions of Willow Park and Annetta North.

In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.[4]

As of the 2015-2016 school year, the ethnic distribution of the school district was 69.1% White, 24.5% Hispanic, 2.4% African American, 0.6% Asian, 0.5% American Indian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, and 2.9% from two or more races.
