The company was established in 2005 to share climate data through bespoke weather tools and destination finders for its users.[5][6][7]

The site has collected climatological data from numerous scientific and meteorological agencies to produce climate guides for over 4,000 destinations across every country in the world. The climate guides show average monthly values covering set meteorological parameters.

Weather2Travel.com supplies climate data to a number of consumer publishers[8][9] and travel companies, including Expedia, Which?, Audley Travel, MSN[10] and more.

History and Overview

Weather2Travel.com is an evolution of shootingonlocation.com, a business-to-business weather and climate site that was dedicated to the film industry. shootingonlocation.com was established in 2002 to inform filmmakers about the climate, terrain and vegetation found in different countries around the world, and to facilitate contact with local film production organisations and film technicians.

Realising that some of this information was valuable for travellers and holidaymakers, co-founders Jon Nigel and Colin Carter launched Weather2Travel.com in 2005 with a business-to-consumer focus that combined detailed climate guides and weather information with travel articles.
