Vivek Athreya

Vivek Athreya is an Indian film director who predominantly works in Telugu cinema. He is known for directing the critically acclaimed Telugu language crime comedy film Brochevarevarura and romantic comedy film Mental Madhilo.[1]

Early life

Vivek Athreya is from Guntur. Both his parents work in India Post. He is an Electronics Engineering graduate from Sastra University and he was working at IBM in Chennai for 5 years. He resigned from IBM due to his passion in directing films.[2]

In the year 2017, Vivek debuted as a director with Mental Madhilo, a romantic comedy produced by Raj Kandukuri of Pelli Choopulu fame. The film stars Sree Vishnu, Nivetha Pethuraj as main leads. The film got good response from both critics and audience. As of now, it has 81% rating from BookMyShow.

Vivek's second film Brochevarevarura got him many accolades for his writing skills and the message the movie has for women, which was said in an entertaining manner with an interesting screenplay. The film stars Nivetha Thomas, Sree Vishnu, Satyadev Kancharana, Nivetha Pethuraj, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshi. It got 85% rating from BookMyShow.
