Veronica Falcón
Veronica Falcón (born August 8, 1966) is a Mexican actress and choreographer. In English speaking roles, Falcón is best known for playing "Camila Vargas" in three series (39 episodes) of Queen of the South and "Lupe" in the 2020 reboot of Perry Mason .

Biography
Falcón was born August 8, 1966, in Mexico City, Mexico. [1] Ignoring stigma perpetuated by her family, Falcón went into the entertainment industry, finding success over three decades as a choreographer and working in the National Opera of Mexico, as an actress on Mexican television and in Mexican film. [2]
In 2016, at age 50, Veronica Falcón made a bold decision to risk forgoing an established career in Mexico to further her career in the US, strongly believing such opportunities should to be taken. [3] Falcón supposedly conceded, that It is very difficult in Mexico to find women's roles so well written with strong Latina characters, such as "Camila Vargas" and "Lupe". [4] Falcón is purported to be the first Mexican-born actress to secure a second lead role in a US dramatic tv series [5] From 2016 to 2018, Falcón stared as Camila Vargas in three series (39 episodes) of Queen of the South. In 2019, Falcón took the recurring role of Clara in eight episodes of the Steven Conrad neo-noir thriller television series Perpetual Grace, LTD alongside Sir Ben Kingsley and Luis Guzmán. [7][8] In 2020 Falcón starred as Marianne Sancar in the feature film Voyagers alongside Colin Farrell and Lily-Rose Depp [9][10] In the same year, Falcón stars as in an HBO reboot of Perry Mason, where she is the love interest of private investigator Perry Mason, played by Matthew Rhys.[11][12] Falcón stars in the 2020 Disney film Jungle Cruise together with Dwayne Johnson and Jesse Plemons.[13]
Nominations and Awards
- In 2014, Falcón was nominated by the Film Mexican Journalists Association (Asociación de Periodistas Cinematográficos de México) (PECIME) for the "Diosas de Plata" ("Silver Goddesses") award for best supporting film actress for her role as "La Diabla" (The Devil) in the 2013 film Besos de Azúcar (Sugar Kisses). - In 2019, Falcón was awarded winner of the Outstanding Performance In a Television Series Impact Award for her portrayal of "Camila Vargas" in Queen of the South television series, at the 22nd Annual NHMC Impact Awards Gala at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills, California. [6]
