Velvet Nagaram

Velvet Nagaram (English: Velvet City) is a 2020 Indian Tamil language psychological thriller film written and directed by Manojkumar Natarajan on his directorial debut.[1] The film casts Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead role. The film is bankrolled by Arun Karthik's Makers Studios and Achu Rajamani and Saran Raghavan composes music for the film.[2] The film had its theatrical release on 6 March 2020 and received mixed to negative reviews from critics.[3][4]

Production

The first look poster of the film was unveiled in English and Tamil languages by Vijay Sethupathi through his Twitter account on 10 June 2018.[5]

The director on his debut film, mentioned that the film is based on a true story which happened in Kodaikanal in 2010.[6]

The official trailer of the film was released by film's lead actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar through her Twitter account on 23 November 2018.[7]
