Utahime

Utahime (歌姫) is the cover album by Japanese singer Akina Nakamori. It was released on 24 March, 1994 under the MCA Records label. It's Nakamori's first cover album and only cover album to be released in the 90s.[1] On the same day was released promotional cover single Kataomoi.[2][3]

The calligraphy on the album cover is written by Yousui Inoue.[4]

Re-printed version includes instrumental versions of the cover tracks arranged by Akira Senju. In 2002, Nakamori would return to her Utahime cover album series under Universal Music Japan.

Stage performance

In December 1994, Akina held one-night live “Utahime” Akina Nakamori Live in Parco Theatre, where she would perform Aizenbashi, Watashi wa Kaze, Shishuuki and Dance wa Umaku Odorenai.[5]

Chart performance

Utahime debuted at number 5 on the Oricon Album Weekly Chart and charted for 9 weeks and sold over 140,500 copies.[6][7]
