United Muslims Association of Hong Kong

The United Muslims Association of Hong Kong (UMAH; Chinese: 香港穆斯林聯會) is an Islamic organisation in Hong Kong. They manage the UMAH Islamic Elderly Home and operate a Madrassa in Tuen Mun, New Territories.[2][3][4]

History

The organisation was established in the 1980s by Omar Ramju Sadick.[5]

Activities

UMAH is generally a charitable organisation taking care of elderly homes and running schools.[6]

It operates the UMAH International Primary School in Yuen Long and a home for the elderly, Haji Omar Ramju Sadick Care and Attention Home in Tuen Mun in the New Territories.[7]

The organisation has undergone a leadership struggle and is currently involved in a well-known court case. While judgement has been handed down, the legal precedence of appeal has been used for prolonging the struggle. It is expected to conclude by August 2018.
