Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya

Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya (transl.Uma Maheshwara's anger)[lower-alpha 1] also referred to as UMUR,[2] is an upcoming Telugu-language film comedy-drama film directed by Venkatesh Maha and starring Satyadev Kancharana and newcomer Hari Chandana. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016).[3]

Production

This film is Venkatesh Maha's second directorial venture after C/o Kancharapalem (2018).[5] Satyadev Kancharana was signed to play the lead role.[2] Bijibal, who composed the music for the original, composed the songs for the film.[3] The film is produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Media Works and Praveena Paruchuri, who previously worked on C/o Kancharapalem. The film was shot in the remote regions of Araku Valley.[6]

Release

The film was initially scheduled to release on 17 April 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Producers then explored the option of releasing on digital platforms instead of a traditional cinema release.[7]

Music

The film will feature the track "Ningi Chutte", composed by Bijibal with lyrics by Viswa and performed by Vijay Yesudas.[8]

  1. Uma Sahitha Maheshwara refers to a soft-heartened person. Ugya Roopasya means anger in Sanskrit. The title refers to the anger of a soft-heartened person: the main character Uma Maheshwararao[1]
