Triton Submarines

Triton Submarines is a Florida-based company that designs and manufactures private submarines. It was founded in 2007 by Bruce L. Jones, who is the CEO as of June 2019.[1]

In 2011, it began a line of submarines for deep sea exploration, the Triton 36000, with engineering by Rayotek.[2]

In 2018, Triton released a version of the 3300/3 in collaboration with Aston Martin. The differences include an exclusive interior, improved hydrodynamics, and more powerful motors.[3]

As of 2019, the DSV Limiting Factor, a 36000/2 Hadal model operated by Victor Vescovo, holds the record for deepest manned descent (to the revised depth of 10,925 m (35,843 ft) ±4 m (13 ft), in the Challenger Deep).[4][5][6][7] Between 28 April and 4 May 2019 the DSV Limiting Factor completed four manned dives to the bottom of Challenger Deep and became the first commercially certified full ocean depth manned submersible.[8] A subsequent descent to the Challenger Deep in June, 2020, also carried former NASA astronaut Kathryn D. Sullivan to the deepest point in the ocean and back.[9]
