Torotoro (Moriori)

Torotoro is the name of the Moriori resident of Kaingaroa in the Chatham Islands who was shot and killed by Lieutenant Broughton's men of HMS Chatham (for which the island group was subsequently named subsequently by Europeans) while defending his fishing gear - on 29 November 1791.
