Tomari Mari

Tomari Mari[4]（Japanese: 兎鞠まり, Hiragana: とまりまり[4][3]）is a Japanese Babiniku virtual YouTuber who works on YouTube.[5][6] She has been active since July 1, 2018 and is currently a member of upd8. [5] She announces that her real gender is male and called herself as "Oji-san" (おじさん, "the guy"). [6] She is considered to be one of the most representative Babiniku VTubers with Ma-ou Magurona (魔王マグロナ, "Magurona the Demon King").[7]

In this Japanese name, the family name is Tomari.

She designs her avatar herself.[6] The 3D modeling was created by Hansode.[8] The logo of her channel is made by Kio Nachi(木緒なち, also known as Hayama Mido; 葉山みど, the virtual YouTuber).[4]

In 26 September 2019, She announced her participation in the virtual talent support project upd8, which is maintained by Activ8 corporation.[9][10]

Friendship

She worked with many other virtual YouTuber, especially Babiniku Vtubers, Ma-ou Magurona (魔王マグロナ) and Hinomori Anzu (日ノ森あんず). She is a fan of illustrator ukyo_rst (later Magurona) originally. When he turns Magurona, the Babiniku Vtuber, Mari thought "I want to voice the character I created and move it myself!". And she became a virtual YouTuber herself.[6] She also appeared on a live stream showing off the 3D model of Anzu Hinomori.[11]

She likes Tsukuni Norio's manga and had been a fan for a long time. After she collaborated with Inuyama Tamaki (VTuber character of Tsukuni Norio) to deepen their friendship, and asked her to draw a manga of Mari at Winter Comicon at the end of 2018.[12] She has also performed with the Kazamiya Matsuri (風宮まつり) in the live stream organized by Inuyama Tamaki.[13] Also, she often collaborate with Mochizuki Himari (餅月ひまり) because their motif is that of rabbits.[14]

She respect some virtual YouTuber like HimeHina (ヒメヒナ), Magurona (魔王マグロナ), Natori Sana (名取さな) and Nora-cat (のらきゃっと).[12] Magurona and Sana have performed together in the events listed below. Also, about HimeHina, she was mentioned by Suzuki Hina (鈴木ヒナ) as cute in an interview.[15]

As an illustrator

She is also known as an illustrator. She design characters of Kido Rumina (輝度るみな) and Ogami Uru (大狼うる).[16] In addition, she designed the character of Momomi Kohanai (小花衣ももみ) and created the basic model of Aoi Ren (蒼唯レン).[17][18]　The person who inspired her to draw is the illustrator Kuroboshi Kohaku (黒星紅白).[19]

Gravure DVD with Magurona, supervised by Akatsuki Yuni (赤月ゆに).[27][11] It was pre-released on the fourth day of Comic Market 97, which took place on 31 December, 2019.[27] The release event was held at Sofmap.[27]

Babiniku Nightclub in Shibuya (バ美肉ナイトクラブ in 渋谷)[19][2][3]
On 31 October, 2018 (Halloween), PANORA and SHOWROOM hosted it in Shibuya, Tokyo.[28][2] She co-starred with Baminiku VTuber Takehana Note (竹花ノート) and Magurona[19][2][3] More than 2,000 people came to the official broadcast on SHOWROOM.[3] A one-hour talk show was held, and after the talk show, fans who bought the goods at the venue could talk to them.[3] DJ SHARPNEL made a live performance as the opening act.[3][29]。

The event was held at the festival "INIAD-FES" in Toyo University, Faculty of Information Networking for Innovation and Design (東洋大学赤羽台キャンパス) on 4 November, 2020.[30] Co-starring members are Magurona, Takehana Note, and Natori Sana.[30]
Love-Babiniku Nightclub (愛☆バ美肉ナイトクラブ)[28][32][29]
On 14 March, 2019 (White Day), at Akihabara TwinBox, it was the event that followed the "Babiniku Nightclub in Shibuya" mentioned above.[28] Onyangkopon (オニャンコポン) and Datenchi Yua (だてんちゆあ) also participated in the talk event, in addition to Magurona, who played at that time.[28] DJ SHARPNEL also appeared on the video when the event started.[29][33] The fragrance goods based on the imaginary scents of Magurona and Mari was sold.[32][33]

Entas x VTuber collaboration vision commercial　(the second part)[39][40]
This is the commercial video by over 100 virtual Youtubers.[39][40] It was aired by "Onoden MX vision",the digital signage near Akihabara Station from 1 January to 31 January, 2020.[39][40] Each video is aired for about 15 seconds, from 8 AM to 8 PM once or twice a day.[40]
