To Catch the Kaidash
To Catch the Kaidash (Ukrainian: Спіймати Кайдаша) — is a Ukrainian drama TV series created by ProKino for STB channel.[1][2] The screenwriter and the showrunner of the project is Natalka Vorozhbyt.[3] The plot of the television series is based on the novel The Kaydash's Family by Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky.
The premiere of the TV series took place on March 2, 2020 on STB. Despite the show's considerable success, Natalka Vorozhbyt repeatedly stated that she did not plan to create a second season.
During the premiere of the television series on television from March 2 to March 11, 2020, 10.5 million viewers watched the series on STB.[4]
Plot
The plot is partly based on the novel The Kaydash's Family by Ivan Nechuy-Levitsky, whose events unfold in the 1860s, just a few years after the abolition of serfdom in Russian Empire. The creator of the series Natalka Vorozhbyt made a lot of changes in the original series.
The events of the television series took place chronologically from 2005 to 2014. The main drama unfolds around the generation gap problem between the parents and children. The plot of the television series is filled with various dramatic confrontations between all family members, the climax of which comes in 2014 when the family is divided by the Revolution of Dignity and the war in Donbas.[5]
