Reception

Rotten Tomatoes gave it a total score of 47%[4] and Metacritic gave it 58/100.[5]

Richard Corliss of Time liked the film, claiming "... this cool, handsome thriller proceeds with an elliptical elegance."[6] Others, however, have not been as kind, as Elvis Mitchell's review in The New York Times reveals.[7]

Paul Tatara of CNN favorably reviewed the film, describing it as "stylish but anemic".[8]

The film won the 1999 Grand Prize of European Fantasy Film in Silver at the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Film.
