The Western League
The Western League is an independent baseball league based in Bakersfield, California. It is a winter league that began play in February 2019 at Sam Lynn Ballpark in Bakersfield,[1] former home of the California League's Bakersfield Blaze and current home of the Bakersfield Train Robbers of the Pecos League, and Wasco Ballpark. It is not affiliated with either Minor League Baseball or Major League Baseball.[2]

The league will consist of three teams playing over five weeks, consisting of one week of training camp four weeks of games. The league will be completed before the reporting date for Major League Baseball spring training, and will allow players to showcase themselves to be signed or resigned by Minor League Baseball teams.
