The Knight and the Princess

The Knight and the Princess is an Egyptian animated film. Released on March 8, 2020, it is the first animated feature film in Egypt. The film stars Haitham Elkhamissi, Mohamed Henedi, Donia Samir Ghanem, Medhat Saleh, Maged El Kedwany, Lekaa Elkhamissi, Abla Kamel, Abdel Rahman Abou Zahra, Amina Rizk and Saeed Saleh. It was directed by Bashir el-Deek and created by cartoonist Mustafa Hussein.[1][2]

The Knight and The Princess animated feature is produced by Alabbas Hamidaddin and was premiered at El Gona Film Festival (GFF2019). The production company is Alsahar animation established in Cairo 1992 by Alabbas Hamidaddin who is also the GM since. The Film was released in Theaters in the Gulf states January 30th,2020. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic did not help keeping the film in theaters. The film was selected for the feature film competition at Annecy2020, which makes if the first Arab animated feature that is selected in the 60 years of Annecy Festivals. The importance of the film is that it was created animated and music score was done by Arabs at Alsahar Animation in Cairo.
