Reception

The book was included on Hello Sunshine's book club.[3] Claims were made that it plagiarized from The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson.[3] It charted on Apple and Amazon's top-selling books lists.[4][5]

The book was shortlisted for the 2020 Fiction Book of the Year in the British Book Awards.[6]
