The Allen House (Westport, Connecticut)

The Allen House is a historic house at 4 Burritt's Landing North in Westport, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 22, 2010.[1] The house, built in 1958, is the only known example in Westport of work by Chicago architect Roy Binkley, Jr.. It is a Bauhaus-style mid-20th Century Modern structure.[2]

The home is roughly "u-shaped" and features unusual 30-foot tall windows, and a spring-fed fish pond. Actor and director Lee Strasberg used it as a summer home and studio in the 1950s and 60s, and often hosted celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe.[3]
