Tennessee Shines

Tennessee Shines is a radio show presented by the Knoxville Americana Music Foundation and brings together qualities of Knoxville and East Tennessee's musical scene by combining the atmosphere of Bijou Theatre, local radio station WDVX and its successful Blue Plate Special, and the reputation of concert promoter AC Entertainment, managing agency of the Bijou and producer of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.[1]

The two-hour, multi-artist show is broadcast live on WDVX and WDVX.com from the Bijou Theatre on the last Wednesday of every month, showcasing predominantly folk music styles popular to the southeastern United States. Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale hosts the shows, which also features a house band led by Dave Nichols, a local Knoxville musician.[1] As explained by AC Entertainment President Ashley Capps, "The concept has always been to celebrate the indigenous culture of this region."[2]
