Telia Rumal is a method for the oil treatment of yarn. It originated from [[Chirala] in Andhra Pradesh.[1] It is an art of Ikat tradition using natural vegetable dyes.[2][3] Some noted designers like Gajams are popular for Telia Rumal designs.[4] It has been given the Geographical Indication (GI) tag on May 12th 2020 by the Geographical Indications Registry headquartered in Chennai.[5] These rumals were patronised by Nizams of Hyderabad.
