Techno-economic assessment

Techno-economic assessment or Techno-economic analysis (abbreviated TEA) is a methodology framework to analyze the technical and economic performance of a process, product or service.[1] TEA normally combines process modeling, engineering design and economic evaluation.[2]

Examples of applications of TEA include the evaluation of the economic feasibility of a specific project, a forecast on the likelihood of the deployment of a technology at certain scale, or a comparison of the economic merit of different technological options that provide the same service.[3]
