Tawume Iskole

Tawume Iskole (The Town School) (Sinhala: ටවුමේ ඉස්කෝලේ) is a 2018 Sri Lankan Sinhalese children's drama film directed by Sunil Premaratne and produced by Dhammika Atapattu for Eyon Films.[1] It stars Bimal Jayakody and Tharuka Wanniarachchi in lead roles along with child artists Prabhashi Palliyage and Melisha Yenuli.[2] Music composed by Darshana Wickramatunga.[3] It is the 1319th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhalese cinema.[4]

Plot

Shanali is a clever girl who lives in a picturesque village in Kurunegala. She lives with her father Suren and her mother Nandani. She passes scholarship exam, therefore eligible to attend a popular school in the city. As a result of this, Shanali's mother is very happy. Shanali's father, who is a silent character, doesn't like going to town school with his daughter. She is enrolled in grade 6-B class in town school and another girl Kaveesha is a very talented child of that class with a very similar appearance. After a few months, Shanali gradually returns to the level of Kaveesha, who has so far excelled. Kaveesha, who is quite proud of these reasons, hates Shanali.

School security officer Siridasa is a lovable and heartiest person who provide sweets to children. However, some teachers in the school had a wrong idea about Siridasa. On the day of the December school holiday, all the kids are out for a fun school holiday. Shanali and Nipuni who arrive from the village are waiting at the bus station. Meanwhile, Nipuni suddenly goes to school forgot the water bottle. Kaveesha saw that Shanali entering to the toilet. To take her revenge she hides that Shanali is inside the toilet when the school guards lock down the door. Therefore Shanali traps inside the toilet.

Without any news from her daughter, Nandani and Surendra complained in the police. After few misleading news, Siridasa is arrested. However he said he is innocent, he was labelled as a sex pervert. When the Shanali's missing news went through the television, Kaveesha informs about her rude behavior to his mother Gayathri, who is the science teacher at the same school. But by thinking future incidents that can destroy Kaveesha's future, she did not take any action. Meanwhile, Shanali has a terrible time within the toilet without food and water for several days. She tries to reveal her presence within the school, but everything fails.

After 5 days, Kaveesha runs to the police and explains what happens on that day. Police immediately searches Shanali in the school. Shanali was recovered and attended to the hospital. Meanwhile, Gayathri was arrested and her husband Sirinatha comes to the police with his friend, Doctor Vijay. During this time, Vijay explains what happened 12 years ago, where both Nandani and Gayathri were attended to the hospital for labor. However, Gayathri's child has been a miscarriage, and Nandani delivered a twin birth. After frustration, Vijay removed the miscarriage and transfer one child to Gayathri. Therefore it was revealed that both Shanali and Kaveesha are twin sisters.
