Tasnim Nazeer

Tasnim Nazeer is a British journalist, author and Universal Peace Federation Ambassador for Peace.[1] She has written for Al Jazeera, HuffPost, The Independent, CNN, BBC News Online, The Guardian, TRT World, Middle East Eye and others.[2][3] Nazeer was awarded The Muslim News Ibn Battuta Award for Excellence in Media 2013[4] and the FIPP Rising Stars in Media Award 2018 for her work in her capacity as a journalist.

Education and career

Nazeer studied a Bachelor's degree in Journalism in 2007 from the University of the Arts London and also has a BA Honours degree in English Language and Literature from The Open University, Scotland.[5] She holds a Master's degree in International Journalism from Edinburgh Napier University. Nazeer was given the Ambassador for Peace Award from the Universal Peace Federation in 2011 for her work in the media.[6] She was also shortlisted for the 2014 British Muslim Awards, 2012 Asian Women of Achievement Award in Media and 2011 Muslim Writers Awards Young Journalist of the Year.[7][8] She has appeared as a guest panelist on BBC Big Questions in 2015 and interviewed on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Asian Network.[9][10] Tasnim is also a contributor to BBC Radio 2 Pause for Thought.

Nazeer is the author of children's books Allah's Gifts (2012) and Aleena Celebrates Eid (2015).[11] She has also authored Muslimah's Key to Jannah (2015) and Islamic Finance: A Practical Introduction (2018). She is currently an ambassador for Peace for the Universal Peace Federation, freelance journalist for Al Jazeera Media Network[12] and also writes for The Huffington Post and Forbes Middle East.[13][14]

Personal life

Nazeer currently lives in Scotland with her husband and children.[15]
