Tamás Vargha

Tamás Vargha (born February 2, 1959)[1] is a Hungarian teacher and politician, member of the National Assembly (MP) for Székesfehérvár (Fejér County Constituency II then I) since 2010.[2] He served as Secretary of State for Defence from October 16, 2012 to May 17, 2018.[3] Currently, he is the Secretary of State for Civil Intelligence within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade since June 23, 2018.[2]

Vargha served as President of the General Assembly of Fejér County between October 8, 2010 and October 16, 2012, when he was appointed state secretary.[1] He was a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs since May 14, 2010 and Defence and Internal Security Committee since October 10, 2011 until November 12, 2012.[2] He also functioned as a vice-chairman of the National Security Committee for a short time between June 4, 2018 and July 2, 2018, until his appointment as state secretary in the Fourth Orbán Government.[2]
