Tallinn Old Town

Tallinn old town (Estonian: Tallinna vanalinn) is the oldest part of Tallinn, Estonia. Since 1997 it is registered to UNESCO World Heritage List. Its area is 113 ha and buffer zone is 2,253 ha.[1]

Majority of old town's structures were built between 13th–16th centuries.[2]

Old town is bordered by Walls of Tallinn.

During World War II, notable destructions took place in 1944 during so-called March Bombing (Estonian: märtsipommitamine). About 10% per cent of buildings in old town were destroyed.
