Career

At the age of 18, Talay Riley signed his first major publishing deal with Global Publishing due to his No. 1 co-written UK single. His first artist appearance in 2009, when he appeared on rapper Chipmunk's single which peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. He then went on to sign with Major Label Jive/Sony Records. Talay has toured with many UK/US artists including Skepta, Usher's sold out Arena tour & Trey Songz.[1]

Personal life

Talay Riley first remembers singing when he was four. As a boy growing up in East London, music was always around him, and he was first exposed to the music of the early 1990s by his older brother and sister. He doesn’t remember it, but he’s constantly reminded of moments in front of the bathroom mirror singing along to their MC Hammer CDs.

Talay's aim is for nothing lower than the stars, naming Nat King Cole, Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, Brandy and James Brown as his greatest inspirations. But he has always been a talent hungry for a twist, studying the biggest names in a number of genres: Blues, Country, Indie, Reggae, Bossa Nova & Rock to name a few. He aims to stitch together a truly universal & unique sound, in his own words, "i love music, i can listen to anything as long as its good, HIP HOP and R&B will always have my heart though, so for the kids! gotta keep the torch super lit! lets go! always a student. Pull up!"
