Tahjib Alam Siddique

Tahzeeb Alam Siddique (Bengali: তাহজীব আলম সিদ্দিকী) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Member of Parliament from Jhenaidah-2.[1]. Tahzeeb Alam Siddique is a businessperson who has been at the head of 6 different companies and presently occupies the position of Managing Director at Doreen Garments Ltd., Managing Director at Dhaka Northern Power Generations Ltd., Managing Director at Asian Entech Power Corp. Ltd., Managing Director & Director at Doreen Power Generations & Systems Ltd. (a subsidiary of Asian Entech Power Corp. Ltd.), Managing Director at SOB Apparels Ltd., Managing Director at Saiham Power Ltd. and Managing Director & Director at Doreen Power House & Technologies Ltd. Mr. Siddique is also on the board of 7 other companies.

Tahzeeb Alam Siddique received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

Early life

Siddique was born on 23 July 1975. He completed his Master's in Public Administration from a university in the United States.[2]

Career

Siddique was elected to Parliament on 5 January 2014 from Jhenaidah-2 as an independent candidate.[3] He owns Doreen Power Limited, which has given the contract to build a power plant in Singair Upazila named Manikganj Power Generations Limited. The company has been accused of disrupting the flow of Dhaleshwari River during construction of the power plant.[4]
