Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah

Sayyid Muhammad 'Abdu'l-Jabbar Shah, Amir-i-Shariyat of Swat. b. ca. 1880, son of Sayyid Mahmud Shah, by his wife, a daughter of Sayyid Akbar Shah, Amir-i-Shariyat of Swat, educ. at Lucknow and Azamgarh. A fine scholar and orator. Wazir-i-Azam to the Nawab of Amb 1899-1914 & 1918. Elected as Amir-i-Shariyat of Swat by the Khans and mullahs, 28th April 1914. Established his capital at Kabbal, in the Niphikhel area Bandi Bala. Opposed by the Akhund family from the outset, and eventually asked to leave Swat in September 1917. Returned with the Amb army and attempted to take Swat, but was defeated at Karakar and expelled, August 1919. Author of "Mun'amene-i-Bani Israil or The Afghan Nation". m. (first) at Amb, 1907, a daughter of Major Nawab Sir Khan-i-Zaman Khan, Nawab of Amb, KCIE. m. (second) at Sathana Fort, 1908, a daughter of "the ruler of Bokhara who had come to Abbottabad after revolution via Afghanistan with the help of Amir Abdul Rahman of Kabul". Syed Abdul-Jabbar Shah Tirmizi, nephew of Syed Akbar Shah Tirmizi and great grand son of Pir Baba, was made ruler by a local Jirga.Syed Abdul-Jabbar Shah Tirmizi become prime minister of State of Amb in late 1920s.
