Reception
The film received positive reviews from both critics and audience unlike Prema Nakshatram which was rejected within the initial few days of its theatrical run.
The film had a direct run of 100 days in movie halls of Hyderabad. It ran for 50 days in Nellore, Rajahmundry, Waltair, Tirupathi, Bejawada, Guntur and Warangal. In Nizamabad, the film had a theatrical run of 63 days which was equivalent to the then highest run of ANR's Premabhishekam in the centre. In other centres like Kakinada, the film was removed from theaters despite a highly successful 14 days run to facilitate the release of other major releases like Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamari Bhartalu, Krishnavataram and Meghasandesam. [5] The film was declared a Superhit at the box office.
Legacy
The film's title was reused for a 1999 Telugu film starring Venu Thottempudi.
