Stonehage Fleming was formed in 2014 when Fleming Family & Partners, the family office run by relatives of banking pioneer Robert Fleming and James Bond creator Ian Fleming, merged with Stonehage, an international family office with its roots in South Africa.[1]

The Company employs over 500 people across 11 offices in eight countries.[2]

History

The forerunner organisation to FF&P was set up by Robert Fleming in 1873, and Stonehage was set up in London in 1976.[3]

Stonehage Fleming traces its origins back to 1873 when Dundee-born financier Robert Fleming founded merchant bank Robert Fleming & Co. Robert Fleming was widely respected on both sides of the Atlantic having amassed a large personal fortune investing in the American railroads.

Stonehage was set up in 1976 as a multi-family office in London, by a number of South African refugee families who had fled the apartheid regime.[4]

People

Giuseppe Ciucci[5] was appointed Group CEO and Charles Erasmus,[6] former Chairman of Stonehage, was appointed Group Chairman.

The chairman of FF&P Adam Fleming was appointed Group Deputy Chairman.[7] Mark Davies, CEO of FF&P and Lord Renwick, Deputy Chairman of FF&P, also joined the Group's board.[8]
