Stephen Carlile

Stephen Carlile (born Bath, Somerset, England)[1] is a British actor well known for portraying the villain Scar in the 2013 European musical adaptation of the Disney film The Lion King.[2]

Early life

Carlile was trained in acting at the Guildford School of Acting.[1]

Career

Carlile has performed in many theatre works including The Go-Between as Viscount Trimingham,[3] Evita, The Producers as Lead Tenor,[2] Peter Pan as Smee,[4] The Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady as Freddy Eynsford-Hill,[2] Next Door's Baby as Dickie O' Brien,[5] The Pirates of Penzance as Frederic,[6] Space Family Robinson[7] and The Phantom of the Opera.

Carlile has also done voice over work in many radio plays including Doctor Who, Songs from Jesus Christ Superstar and Vanity Fair.

Carlile also appeared in the 2008 drama film Brideshead Revisited as English Lord.[8]
