Cloud Constellation

Cloud Constellation Corporation's SpaceBelt Data Security as a Service (DSaaS) is a space-based global managed network and cloud data storage service. SpaceBelt bypasses vulnerable terrestrial networks to greatly mitigate the cybersecurity risk for high value, highly sensitive data. The constellation of 8 satellites will offer up to 5 petabytes of data storage and will use laser communication links between the satellites to transmit data between different locations on Earth.[1][2]

In 2016 the organization entered into an agreement with SolarCoin solar energy cryptocurrency to store its blockchain vault on the satellites[3][4] for space-based deep cold storage[5][6] concurrent with live transactions, making SolarCoin the “first orbital currency.”[7]

In September 2017 Cloud Constellation[8] entered into an agreement[9] with Virgin Orbit through its LauncherOne program to deploy twelve of its cloud constellation satellites to low-Earth orbit. Service availability is planned for 2021.[10]
