Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE)® is a member-based association for compliance and ethics professionals worldwide and across all industries. Founded in 2004, our organization is 7,600+ members strong – and growing! The vision of SCCE is to be the pre-eminent compliance and ethics association promoting lasting success and integrity of organizations worldwide. Incorporated in 2011, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics & Health Care Compliance Association (SCCE & HCCA) is a 501(c)(6) non- profit organization. We pride ourselves on being dedicated to the professional compliance community. Each member has direct access to our CEO, Gerry Zack.
History
In 2004, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics was created to serve cross-industry needs. Roy Snell, Dan Roach and Odell Guyton, who had been active in HCCA for years, agreed to be founding co-chairs of a new advisory board for SCCE. They were soon joined by Debbie Troklus, Sheryl Vacca, Joe Murphy, Marjorie Doyle, and others. SCCE has grown to more than 7,600+ members, and The Compliance and Ethics Institute, SCCE’s largest event, now attracts approximately 1,500 attendees annually.
Education, publications and events
SCCE offers a robust calendar of 40+ events each year, including weekly web conferences, one-day regional conferences, to three-and-a-half day national conferences, and classroom-style Academies covering the basics of compliance and ethics. We also offer a wide range of products, including books, magazines, and newsletters. Our resources are available in print through our website, and also online through COSMOS. COSMOS is our new online platform, providing practical content with powerful search and links to relevant resources.
Certification
The Compliance Certification Board (CCB)® was established in 1999. CCB’s mission is to develop criteria for the determination of competence in the practice of compliance at a variety of levels, and to recognize individuals meeting these criteria. CCB certifies over 12,500 compliance professionals through its seven compliance certification programs: Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)®, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional–Fellow (CCEP-F)®, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional–International (CCEP-I)®, Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)®, Certified in Healthcare Compliance– Fellow (CHC-F)®, Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC®), and Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC)®.

SCCE social network: SCCEnet
In 2008, SCCE launched a private social network that allows compliance professionals to connect online, engage in discussion, share documents including policies and procedures, and start discussion communities dedicated to particular areas of compliance, job titles, and individuals who work in various regions in the US and around the globe. The social network, now called SCCEnet, has profiles of over 15,000 compliance professionals who have used the service.

A monthly, members-only magazine, available in print and SCCE’s online platform (COSMOS), providing valuable information for compliance professionals.

SCCE has a dedicated library for members and non-members alike to easily search and have access to more than 4,000 documents covering health care compliance issues.
