Soan Papdi (film)

Soan Papdi (Tamil: சோன்பப்டி) is a 2015 Tamil language comic crime thriller film,[1] directed by debutant Sivani.[2] The film features Sri of Vazhakku Enn 18/9 fame, Child actor Sahil (Making his debut) and Priya in lead roles, while Manobala, Pattimandram Raja and Besant Ravi play supporting roles. The story is about an Employed Engineer who lands in a mysterious quandary and how he begins to unravel the mystery around. The film is produced by S. Kalaivani, under Golden Movie Maker.[3]

Release

A first official film trailer was released on 3 April 2015. The Censor Board members very impressed by the movie conveyed their tremendous appreciation. The film is given a "U" certificate by the Indian Censor Board. The film was released on 29-May-15.

Box office

The film released in 100 screens in Tamil Nadu. It earned approximately 5 Lakhs  on its first day, which was said to be a big opening, amidst competing against big starrer Mass it earned ace reviews from audience [7] Having a directorial debut and also being a debut for the production Banner, movie released to negative reviews.[8]
