Siyavush Novruzov

Novruzov was born in the village of Jahri of the Babek region in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan on 17 February 1969. He got involved in professional sport when he was 10 and became a freestyle wrestling champion of the USSR. He served his military service in Afghanistan, was awarded orders and medals for valor in battles. He is also a veteran of the Karabakh war. Novruzov has been involved in politics since the late 80s, when the movement for independence from the Soviet Union started in Azerbaijan. He is a member of Milli Majlis (National Assembly of Azerbaijan) since 2000. He serves as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations, and Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP).[2]

• 1 May 2015 – Order "For Service to Homeland" by F.A.Klinsevich, Chairman of the Russian Union of Afghan Veterans.
• 14 September 2016 – Order "For Devotion to Homeland" by the chairman of the All-Russian Public Union of Veterans of the Russian Federation, Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Army General V.F.Yermakov for a great contribution to strengthening the country's defensive capabilities.
• 27 October 2016 – Jubilee medal "General Jumshud Nakhchivanski" by the Veterans Organization of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
• 11 November 2016 – Medal "Fadai" by the Azerbaijan Karabakh war invalids, veterans and martyrs' families Public Association.

• 2 February 2017 – Medal for his services to the veterans' organization of the "Brotherhood of Battle" by the chairman of the All-Russian public organization of veterans of the "Brotherhood of Battle", the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the USSR Colonel-General B.Gromov.
• He was awarded the honorary badge for his great services and support for veteran movements.
• 15 February 2017 – Medal "For Services" to the Motherland on behalf of the Russian Union of Veterans of Afghanistan.
• 18 November 2017 – Order “For Service to the Motherland” of the first degree by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[3]
• 5 July 2018 – Jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan on "The 100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijani Police (1918–2018)" by the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
• 15 October 2018 – Jubilee Medal "The 100th Anniversary of the Army of Azerbaijan (1918–2018)" by the order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan on behalf of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
• 16 February 2019 – Order of Glory for his active participation in the socio-political life of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[4]
