Sir John Jackson, 1st Baronet
Sir John Jackson, 1st Baronet (30 December 1763 – 17 May 1820) was a British politician and businessman.

Biography
Early life
John Jackson was born on 30 December 1763 in Kingston, Jamaica.[1][2] His father was John Jackson (1730-1777) and his mother, Anna Coverley (1740-1788).[1]
Career
He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dover from 1806 to 1820.[2] He also served on the Board of Directors of the East India Company.[1]
On 22 May 1815, he was created a baronet in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom, of Arlsey in the County of Bedford.[3]
Personal life
He married Charlotte Spry Gorham, the daughter of General Joseph Goreham (1725-1790) and Ann Spry (1745-1815).[1] They resided at Bellmoore House in Hampstead, London.[1] They had six children:
Death and legacy
He died on 17 May 1820.[1] After his death, his baronetcy was passed on to his first son, Keith Alexander Jackson, who became the 2nd Jackson Baronet of Arlsey.[1]
