Simone Askew

Simone Askew is a First lieutenant in the United States Army.[1] She graduated from West Point in 2018 and was named a Rhodes Scholar. In 2017, she became the first African American woman to earn the role of First Captain, leader of the Corps of Cadets.[2] This is regarded as a major step in racial and gender equality within the US military.

She was also name by Glamour magazine as one of the top 10 College Women of the Year.[1] She graduated as an International studies major.

Simone has been granted a Rhodes Scholarship, and plans to attend Oxford university. After Oxford, she plans work in military intelligence operations.[3]
