Shrimati Indira Gandhi College

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College is a women's college located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. The college was established in the year 1984 by K. Santhanam and it is situated right opposite to the Chatram Bus stand. The college is affiliated to Bharathidasan University.[1]

History

The college was started in 1984, by educationist K. Santhanam with 2 courses and 10 Teachers. It is one of the first two colleges in the State founded simultaneously and exclusively for Women. The college was named after former Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi and a life size statue of Indira Gandhi in the campus to inspire the women students.[2]
