Shinya Aikawa

Shinya Aikawa (相川 進也, Aikawa Shinya, born July 26, 1983) is a former Japanese football player.

Playing career

Aikawa was born in Kamisato, Saitama on July 26, 1983. After graduating from high school, he joined J1 League club Consadole Sapporo in 2002. On May 6, he debuted against Vegalta Sendai in J.League Cup.[1][2] He debuted in J1 League in November[3] and played last 4 matches in 2002 season after the debut.[4] However Consadole finished at the bottom place and was relegated to J2 League end of 2002 season. He became a regular forward under new manager Masaaki Yanagishita in 2004 and played many matches until 2006. However Yanagishita resigned end of 2006 season, Aikawa could not play many matches under new manager Toshiya Miura in 2007. In September 2007, he moved to Japan Football League club FC Gifu. He scored 4 goals in 8 matches and Gifu was promoted to J2 end of 2007 season. However he could not play many matches in 2008 and retired end of 2008 season.
