Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering & Technology

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering & Technology was established in 1995. It is affiliated to PTU, Jalandhar and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It is located in Ferozepur district in the Indian state of Punjab. It was named in a tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh.In the academic year 2011–12, it was upgraded to the status of a technical campus and rechristened as Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur. The institute is fully promoted by the Punjab Government and is registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Its affairs are administered by a Board of Governors. The campus has 3 buildings for administrative and academics purposes spread over 92 acres. It offers undergraduate courses in B.Tech.-C.S.E, E.C.E and M.E, E.E, C.E. and beginning in 2010, regular batches for M. Tech has been started. It also offers diploma and part-time MBA It also offers B.ARCH.

It has a central computer center and a central workshop for practical training.

The college operates four hostels (four for boys and two for girls). All the hostels have TV rooms with cable connections, a guest room, common rooms for indoor games and a reading room. Student rooms are allotted on the basis of prior year merit and their preferences.

Admission is through State CET, NATA, AIEEE for undergraduate courses and for postgraduate courses, GATE score is considered.

Placements

Institute has good placement scenario specially for UG CSE,ECE students. Student get placements in companies like Infosys, Wipro,Nagarro,Accenture,TATA Consultancy Services Ltd,HCL,CSC Technologies,Amdocs,Dell-Perot Systems,Nokia Seimens,EME Technologies,M/s. Schwing Stetter (India) Private Limited, Bajaj Motors Ltd etc. .These companies either visit the college campus or via pool campus recruitment drive.

Extracurricular activities

  • Sports: Facilities exist for popular indoor and outdoor games.
  • N.S.S: The National Service Scheme was formed with an aim to provide service to society. N.S.S volunteers work to help the needy.
  • N.C.C: The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.
