Sethi
Sethi is a surname of Indian origin. It is found among multiple social groups, including the Aroras and Khatris (specifically Khukhrains) of Punjab.[1]
Sethi (seṭhī), is a Khatri surname found in North India and to a little extent in Pakistan. It derives from the Sanskrit word shreshthi, which was used as a title for best among all or another guild or person who is nonpareil in war/trade. It is common among Jains, Rajput, and Khatri castes and are considered as the most furious fighters of the Indian subcontinent. In the Mughal era, many of them have established businesses all over the country as they use to be warlords for Mughals and later with the arrival of the British.
