Security Council of Kyrgyzstan

The Security Council of Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyz: Кыргызстандын Коопсуздук Кенешинин, Russian: Совет Безопасности Кыргызстана) is an political/constitutional body in the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. It's tasks includes considering internal and external threats to the state and maintaining security and defense of Kyrgyzstan. Being a purely advisory body, it aides the President in developing his/her decisions related to the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and other law enforcement bodies.[1][2] The current Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan is Damir Sagynbaev (since 12 March 2018).[3] Notable security council secretaries include Almazbek Kurmanaliev, Tokon Mamytov, and Zhenish Razakov.[4] The security council was renamed in 2010 to the defense council and was reverted to its former name in March 2017.[5][6]
