A poll commissioned by the Law Society of Scotland in 2012 found that 76 percent of Scottish solicitors regularly read Scottish Legal News.[3] The publication's editorials and surveys of the legal profession, on wide-ranging issues including Brexit,[4][5] lawyers' safety,[6] and major legal reforms,[7] regularly attract wider press attention.

The publication is edited by Kapil Summan and the managing editor is Graham Ogilvy. A sister publication in Ireland, Irish Legal News,[8] was launched in 2015 and is edited by Connor Beaton, with Graham Ogilvy as managing editor.
