Scott Wright (actor)

Scott Wright (born 2 October 1974) is a British actor, singer, and musician. He was nominated for a National Television Award in 2001 for Most Popular Newcomer for his role as Sam Kingston in Coronation Street and has been awarded a "Rear of the Year" title.

Career

Wright had a three-year stay in ITV's Coronation Street, playing Sam Kingston.[1] Wright's other acting credits on television include ITV's Crossroads and BBC One's Casualty.[2] Added to this he played the title role in Tristan in the Merlin International films production. Wright has also appeared in ITV's Emmerdale and Channel 4's Shameless.[3]

Scott first displayed his singing talents nationally on Celebrity Stars in their Eyes and has since gone on to share the stage with multimillion selling artists such as David Cassidy, Alexander O'Neil and Motown legends Martha Reeves, Candi Staton and New Kids on The Block star Jordan Knight to name but a few. Scott also plays guitar piano and Harmonica.

Over many year Scott has travelled far and wide performing at prestigious venues such as The Point, Old Trafford; Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester; Manchester; Reebok Stadium, Bolton; Opera House, Manchester; Belfast Grand, Northern Ireland; Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.


Wright founded Screen Academy which provides acting classes for television, film and stage in the North of England.[4]

In 2015 Wright appeared in several plays and ITV 1's Midwinter of The Spirit playing Anna Maxwell Martins' husband Sean Watkins the drama also starring David Threlfall.

In 2016 Wright toured with The Shawshank Redemption playing Jordan Dawkins for Bill Kenwright productions.

In 2018 it was reported Wright was filming a new, yet to be announced TV series called ‘The Two Wolves’ co-starring Sir Derek Jacobi, James Cosmo, Francis Barber and American Emmy Award winning actress Dove Cameron.
