Scott D. Sheffield

Scott Douglas Sheffield (born 1952/53) is an American businessman, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Pioneer Natural Resources Company.

Early life

Sheffield received a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas.[1]

Career

In August 1997, he became CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources.[1]

The end of 2016, he stepped down as CEO and retired to a 2,300 acre ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico, that he had purchased from Jane Fonda.[2]

In January 2017, he was succeeded by Timothy Dove as CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources.[3][1]

He is executive chairman of Pioneer until the end of 2017, and is on the advisory board of L1 Energy.[4] In February 2019, he returned to the position of CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources upon the retirement of former PNR CEO Timothy Dove.[5]

Personal life

Sheffield is married to Kimberly, they have five children, and live in Irving, Texas.[6]
