School-Live! (film)

School-Live! (Japanese: がっこうぐらし!, Hepburn: Gakkō Gurashi!) is a 2019 Japanese horror film and adaptation of the manga series by Norimitsu Kaihō. A live-action film adaptation of School-Live! was announced in the January 2018 issue of Manga Time Kirara Forward in November 2017,[1][2] and it was released by Universal Pictures under the Regents label in Japan on January 25, 2019.[3][4] The film is directed by Issei Shibata and starred the members of the idol group Last Idol.[5]

Premise

Kurumi Ebisuzawa (Nanami Abe), Yuki Takeya (Midori Nagatsuki), Yūri Wakasa (Wakana Majima) and Miki Naoki (Rio Kiyohara) attend the same high school in Japan, but they also know one another because they reside in the school's dormitory. The school girls are having fun until a zombie outbreak occurs, infecting the school population. The 4 girls must now learn to survive in this new world.

Spin-Off

Prior to the movie's premiere, Universal announced The "Gakkō XXX-Another School Girl!" (が っ こ う XXX ～ も う ひ と つ こ う ぐ し！ ～) series, which is a spin-off of the film, exclusive to purchase it digitally by Amazon's Prime Video only in Japan. The four-episode original series featuring 21-year-old Hinako Sakurai as an original character Yukari Sawatari focuses on the students' everyday life at Megurigaoka Private High School and the breakout of the zombie apocalypse. Most of the actors of the movie reprises their roles.
