Sayem Sobhan Anvir

Sayem Sobhan Anvir is a Bangladeshi businessman, managing director of Bashundhara Group.[1][2][3][4] Anvir is the son of business magnate Ahmed Akbar Sobhan.[5]

In 2016, he received CIPs status from the Bangladesh government for his business contributions in the country.[6][7]

Early life

Born on 31 January 1981 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Anvir is a son of Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, the chairman and founder of Bashundhara Group. He did his schooling from the Education King’s School in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Thereafter he completed his Bachelor in Business Administration from the American International University in London, in 2001.

Business career

After completing graduation, Anvir joined his father’s business and was appointed the Manager Director of Bashundhara Group in 2001.[8][9] He initially worked in the human resource department of the company and was responsible for restructuring the organization.[10][11]

Anvir is also the co-chairman of the Bashundhara Foundation which works for the welfare of the poor and marginal people. He is one of the life members of Sandhani, an institution of medical and dental students of Bangladesh.

In 2016, he received CIPs status from the Bangladesh government for his business contributions in the country. In 2017, he became the first Bangladeshi to receive the 'Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award'.[12]
