Sasikala Pushpa Ramaswamy
Dr. Sasikala Pushpa Ramaswamy was a member of the Parliament of India representing Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of parliament.[3] She was mayor of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation from 2011 to 2014.

In August 2016 it was alleged that she had been expelled from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party after an altercation with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Tiruchi Siva at Delhi IGI airport.[4][5] In July 2017 the Supreme Court found that no expulsion notice had been served and that she had not, in fact been expelled by the party.[6]
